Support Worker, Children's Residential

42.5 hours per week

Up to £19,200 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications

I am looking for a capable children's support worker for a beautiful independent school which provides homely residential placements and education for children and young people with special educational needs.

The role:

To ensure that all the children and young people are safe and receive a high standard of care.
Work to ensure that the school is a nurturing and homely environment
Encourage the children to engage in the local community as well as developing life skills and leading a healthy lifestyle.
You will work as part of a supportive team, providing person-centred care.
Helping young people with their day-to-day routines including personal care, developing their communication skills and helping them to achieve positive behaviour.
Support the children in a variety of leisure activities and independent living skills.

About you:

You will be highly motivated to work with children and young people.
You will be able to form appropriate relationships and maintain personal boundaries.
Due to the demanding nature of the role, you will be resilient to challenging behaviours.
You will have a positive attitude towards authority and self-reflection.
You have strength and resilience to enable you to deal with challenging behaviour.
You will be happy to support others with their cultural backgrounds and beliefs.
You must promote the welfare and safeguarding of children and young adults.
