Support Worker (Specialist Services)
Walsall | 21 Hours per Week
We are recruiting for a Support Worker to join our Specialist Services team based in Walsall, which offers support to women and children that have been affected by domestic abuse,working 21 hours per week.

We are looking for someone who can provide a support service in the community to women and children specifically around domestic abuse, forced marriage, honour based violence and female genital mutilation on an individual basis, using a person centred approach.
The purpose of this role is to:
Support service users with all aspects of maintaining their tenancy
Maintain confidentiality of all records and work with external agencies
To give advice, guidance, support and information in respect of mental ill health, domestic and sexual violence, managing finances, person safety and security
Help to build confidence and self-esteem
Help to make informed decisions about their lives
To demonstrate full commitment to anti-oppressive practise
We are looking for someone who is empathetic, who understand the issues that relate to vulnerable children, young people and families. Communication skills are vital for this position, both written and verbal. You should have knowledge and understanding of issues relating to domestic violence services and support for children and families. You must be computer literate and have an awareness of working mandatory training qualifications (fire safety, first aid, food hygiene, manual handling and health & safety awareness).
