Seven Social Care are looking for a Temporary Support Worker to work in the Reablement Team at Darlington Rehabilitation Unit. The contract is initially for 3 months and the pay rate is £10.50 paid via umbrella company.

The role:

Shift patterns are 7:30am – 1:30pm, 4pm-10pm. Bank holiday and weekend working is included. Supporting people in their own homes to regain skills and independence. Preferably NVQ2 in care. Requires Moving people training, First Aid, Safeguarding alerter1 food hygiene. Car driver and owner. Experience in working in care sector. Uniform will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

To identify and create personalised goals as per the individuals reablement support plan. This will involve care and support tasks such as personal care, mobility and transfers, meal preparation and maintenance of essential hygiene, but doing this in a reablement focused way to maximise independence.
To visit individuals who are experiencing change in physical ability. This could be with individuals experiencing symptoms of old age or mental health needs. The reablement support worker will be expected to use their initiative and act appropriately in emergencies. E.g. contacting GP, community health, emergency services etc.
To travel to individuals homes within Darlington and surrounding villages as directed.
Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications: NVQ in Care.
Experience: 2+ years working in a similar role.
Compliance: Up to date DBS.
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
