Seven Social Care is looking for a Income officer in Solihull

The role:

As a income officer you will be responsible for the efficient collection of all Income Debt. To deal with all cases and enquiries for Council Tax & Business Rates from post bailiff stage and to deal with Sundry Income and Housing Benefit overpayments from Final notice stagerole in Solihull

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for all Income Collection (billing and recovery of Council Tax, Business Rates, Sundry Income and Housing Benefit overpayments)
Agree non routine payment arrangements by assessing capacity to pay
Valuation Schedules for Council Tax and Business Rates
Trace / Write off Preparation
Debt recovery by telephone or in person
Respond to telephone enquiries and correspondence
Liaise with Bailiffs
Check summonses and prepare paperwork
Credit control and debt monitoring – Contacting businesses and individuals by telephone and in writing to chase payment of outstanding Income debts or to make payment arrangements (Income debts cover Sundry Income, Business Rates, Council Tax and overpaid Housing Benefit debt)
Deal with and respond to Collection agency and Court Enforcement Officer enquiries
Monitor debt analysis reports
Income Report checking
Selection of cases for County Court
Applicant Requirements:

Qualifications:The ability to demonstrate an equivalent level numeracy and literacy skills
Experience: Practical knowledge and experience of the Northgate system (or equivalent) for Council Tax and Business Rates
Travel: Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w.
